In 2011 Nigel and I were invited up to Middleton Hall to take a look at the North East's newest wedding venue yet to open its doors and meet it's owners June, Brian and daughter Ashley. The building was without a doubt stunning, set within extensive gardens and wooded grounds in a remote spot right up near the Scottish boarders. There was a huge amount of work to be done but it was clear to see the family's incredible attention to detail as we watched on as workmen painstakingly recreated the ornate mouldings on the ceilings of the great hall that had deteriorated over the many years that it had been left abandoned. Listening to June and Brian's excitement about the potential of the building, restoring it back to it's original splendour along with the Lake, Boathouse, and Folly and offering it as an exclusive use venue for couples getting married captivated us. We have been looking forward to working in Middleton Hall very much ever since and our first opportunity arrived in April this year with the wedding of the lovely Emma and David.
Thank you to you both for a wonderful day, for your kindness and for your friendship. We have loved working alongside you both and wish you every happiness in the world.
