It all began when outdoor loving Andrew and Laurie took a walk together to the picturesque Roseberry Topping in North Yorkshire. Andrew carefully chose the perfect spot and proposed to his bride. The wedding planning began with one thing for certain; there was no doubt in their minds that they would be married in sight of the famous hill.
As soon as they had set eyes on St Oswin’s Church in Newton under Roseberry, they knew that it was perfect for them. A pretty countryside church in a picture postcard village right underneath the Topping, and the village green just down the road was perfect for a few pictures.
Nigel and I were delighted when they both got in touch to ask if we would photograph their big day and what a day it was. The church was simply stunning, made even better with the wonderfully welcoming Rev. Paul Peverell (Rev Pev) taking the ceremony and adding in extra entertainment for the kids. A ventriloquist dummy dressed as a bride, bubbles and magic tricks all made an appearance in his clever and entertaining sermon.
A perfectly timed gust of wind during the confetti created a spectacular effect and made a wonderful send off for the bride and groom before a quick pit stop for a few pictures on the village green.
Nigel jumped on the vintage double decker bus with the bride and groom and their guests and we all made a move to their reception. Ingleby Greenhow village hall, looked amazing decorated with coloured bunting strung from the ceiling, loosely tied flower arrangements in mason jars as table centrepieces and the focal point, a stunning home made wedding cake (yes – home made!!) I also can't finish this post without mentioning the outdoor pizza ovens for the evening guests, my word the pizza tasted good!
It was a fabulous day with amazing people and a setting to die for. We loved every moment.
It was a joy to be heading back to the Parish Church of St John the Evangelist at Killingworth for our last wedding in May for Rachel and Ben's wedding.
We were welcomed with open arms - literally by the church's lovely vicar who has a real knack of making everyone feel at home in his church. It was really enjoyable to see him insisting that everyone fully take part in the ceremony by putting a microphone in front of random guests while they were singing hymns which resulted in lots of giggles throughout and certainly eased the nerves of the couple.
After a really wonderful ceremony and a few pictures in the grounds of the church, we all head north for the wedding reception at the gorgeous Georgian country house, Eshott Hall in Northumberland.
A beautiful day towards the end of May saw us with Janet and Simon for their wedding day at Matfen Hall set in the picturesque northumberland countryside. Janet looked stunning with her fresh but flawless natural makeup which suited her fair skin beautifully. I loved her stunning nature inspired bouquet and vintage inspired wedding shoes.
Congratulations to you both on your wonderful wedding day, it was a joy and an honour to work with you. x
