Wynyard Hall - Kim and Doug

Autumn. I have always loved it, but more so since becoming a wedding photographer.  The low sun gives us sublime light, and the trees and foliage burst into an array of wonderful colours.  An autumn wedding at a venue like Wynyard Hall, working with a great couple and a fantastic team of suppliers. what more could we ask for?

Kim and Doug were a dream to work with.  Kim was effortlessly elegant and Doug was quite the gentleman.  Their stylishly classic wedding naturally flowed throughout the day from Doug preparing in Kim's family home right through to their fab evening reception where even Doug's Grandad showed off his moves on the dance floor.  Personal touches such as Kim's sister singing during the ceremony and her brother using his skills as a graphic designer for the table details added something extra special to the day.  This wedding was made special for us too, having worked with two of Kim's siblings in the past, it was a real joy to join the family again for this, the third family wedding.

Matfen Hall - Kerry and Jake

Festoon lighting, hurricane lanterns a candle lit ceremony made for a wonderfully cosy atmosphere for Kerry and Jake's wedding at Matfen Hall last October.  They were married in the hall's stunning gothic great hall with it's huge sweeping staircase and huge feature fireplace.  The weather was kind to us and so the newlyweds were able to take advantage of the extensive grounds and woodlands for some pictures alone together before joining their guests for their wedding breakfast in the terrace rooms.  There were some great moments through out the day, lots of laughter and lots of fun, and it was a joy to capture it all for this fab couple.

The Yorkshire Wedding Barn - Sarah and Bill

They say, it's good luck to rain on your wedding day... So often this is said to as a little consolation to the bride and groom who dreamed of an outdoor wedding ceremony that wasn't to be, however for Sarah and Bill who were married in the Yorkshire wedding barn in October, perhaps the old saying rang a truth as the day could not have gone better.  

The sky's opened and it poured down just as the bride was about to walk down the aisle.  The rain pummelled on the canopy with a constant roar and the water poured off of the canvas in sheets.  Sarah looked stunning and elated as she walked from the barn, a ceiling of brolly's surrounding her to her outdoor ceremony.  Her infectious happiness spread throughout the entire place and did not stop for the rest of day.  

The wedding ceremony went ahead in not exactly the way the had both envisioned before hand but with the help of some good spirited groomsmen and their brollies and a great team at the barn it could not have gone more smoothly.  The bride and groom, both lovers of the outdoors embraced the weather and and made it a part of their perfect day.  

It was a fantastic day with a really wonderful couple full of life and energy married in a stunning countryside setting.  I was so happy that our first visit to the Yorkshire wedding barn was for Sarah and Bill's unforgettable wedding day.
