Newton Hall - Georgina and Richard

What a cracker this wedding was! In June, we travelled up to Newton Hall, a stunning Georgian coastal wedding venue in Northumberland for Georgina and Richard’s wedding. As we travelled up the A1, seeing the weather clear, thinking about the day ahead, and this awesome couple, we already knew it was going to be amazing.

We had the chance to get to know Georgina and Richard before the wedding and we all really hit it off. Their relaxed yet vibrant and fun personalities make them such an absolute joy to be around, and it was no different on their big day.

Newton Hall is a venue that we have visited many times before, its classic exterior and its quirky interior make it such a fun venue to photograph. Alone, the venue is perfect, but with the stunning beach close by, it just gets better and better. After dinner we headed out into the beach for some stunning portraits, the golden sunshine made for amazing evening light.

As always it was a pleasure to work alongside the very talented Janet and Chris from One Digital Image, Paul Lytton and of course Craig and the rest of the staff at Newton Hall.

Healey Barn - Monika and Daniel

Lithuanian born Monika and local lad Daniel, currently living in Edinburgh travelled down to Healey Barn in Northumberland for their wedding in May. The venue was stunning, the weather was glorious, and you can see from the photograph above, the joy that surrounded us throughout the day.

The Boathouse in Riding Mill was a great find by Monika. Only a few minutes drive away from the venue, it’s picturesque village setting and large airy interior made the space perfect for her and her maids to get ready before the main event. Healey barn its self also could not have been more perfect for them. The relaxed vibe, and atmospheric ceremony room, along with the stunning countryside location added so much to their day.

Monika and Daniel chose to include some special Lithuanian traditions into their day. At the beginning of the wedding breakfast they were welcomed by Monika’s parents with the traditional gifts of bread, salt and water. The bread symbolising life, the salt for bitter moments and two glasses of water wash everything down. The guests were each supplied with vodka instead of champagne or prosecco to toast the bride and groom, and the brides parents together lit a candle symbolising the new hearth flame of the new couple.

It really was a day to remember filled with memories to treasure.

Northside Farm - Shell and Joe

With their laid back attitude and zest for life, Joe and Shell’s wedding at Northside Farm was a dream to photograph. Joe’s calm and collected manner, next to Shell’s vibrant energy, they are two people, different in their personalities and yet so right for one another. Beautifully put in Joes words, “We’re like Yin and Yang. We compliment each other. Our strengths and weaknesses dovetail next to one another.”

Their wedding motto was ‘life is short’, a little word play based on their last name and reflected their attitude on the day. They day centred on having fun. They never took themselves too seriously and wanted only for everyone to enjoy themselves. Their attitude trickled down the entire wedding party and the day continued to rise in energy and laughter.

Within the fun, there were also moments of deep sincerity. With tears in their eyes, they spoke their personal vows to one another. A moment so moving and emotional, it became too much for their youngest bridesmaid overcome with joy for the happy couple. The speeches were sincere and thoughtful, laced of course with a good dose of humor, and little shared glances between the two of them in the quiet moments that said so much and more.

Weddings don’t get much better than this.

Woodhill Hall - Laura and Alan

Woodhill Hall is such a chic and cool wedding venue. Quirky interiors, a light and airy conservatory for the ceremony and meal, and a tipi to celebrate the night away, but while the venue is drop dead gorgeous, the people are the best part of any wedding and Laura and Alan’s wedding was no exception. It was a day of love and laughter, joy and celebration. What more can I say except for on with the show!…

“Where do we start? Nigel and Chrissie are the most amazing wedding photographers and we couldn’t have asked for more from them on our special day! They were amazing throughout the whole process and made us feel so comfortable and at ease... this says alot as we don’t usually feel comfortable getting our photograph taken! They ensured every photo was perfect even if it meant Nigel getting muddy when lying on the grass to get the perfect shot!

As for our album.... it’s perfect! The time and effort that Nigel and Chrissie put into it shines through on every page.

We can’t thank you both enough for everything, the time and effort you have given us is very much appreciated and we can’t recommend you enough!
