Rudding Park - Abbie and Rowan
Abbie and Rowan's March wedding at Rudding Park was a delightful blend of historical charm and informal elegance. The 19th-century chapel provided a timeless backdrop for their vows, while the snow outside added a touch of magic to the day.
As the celebration moved beyond the chapel, Rudding Park continued to be the perfect canvas for an informal atmosphere. Guests mingled, sharing stories and laughter, creating an ambience that felt more like a family gathering than a traditional wedding reception.
It was a wonderful day and a joy to photograph.

Beamish Hall - Danielle and Robert
At the end of February, we were back a Beamish Hall for Danielle and Robert’s wedding day. Surrounded by their family and friends, they said their ‘I do’s’ in the Shafto Hall, before heading into the Winter Gardens for some fantastic speeches, wedding breakfast, and evening party. It was an overcast and chilly day, but despite the cold, they were only too happy to get outside for a few pictures in the fabulous grounds. It was a fantastic day with a wonderful couple, and a joy to have been a part of.

Healey Barn - Brooke and Calum
In December, Brooke and Calum became Mr. and Mrs. in a beautiful wedding at Healey Barn. Nigel met Calum and the lads as they got ready at Derwent Manor, while I went to see Brook and the girls at the Newlands Lodges near Shotley Bridge. Brooke looked stunning in her elegant lace gown, complemented by her bridesmaids in neutral shades, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Ruby, who was dressed to the nines and stole the show with her cuteness.
Their ceremony was held in the candlelit stone barn at Healey Barn, which was filled with beautiful floral displays featuring white roses, pinecones, and pampas grass, The magnificent Christmas tree at the entrance to the barn added a touch of seasonal magic. After the ceremony and a few drinks with their guests, Brooke and Calum joined us outside to capture some shots within the grounds of Healey Barn, and in the surrounding woods.
It was a wonderful day from start to finish - from the emotional ceremony to the surprise performance by singing waiters, and right through to the end of the day as the guests were partying the night away. We loved every moment of photographing it.
We wish the happy couple a lifetime of love and happiness.

“Thank you so much for the amazing photos, they are fabulous, memories to last a lifetime! Thanks again for being so amazing and playing a huge part in our special day! We absolutely love our beautiful photos.” - Brooke and Callum.
South Causey Inn - Danielle and Lee
“Wow, we love the photos and it feels like we have relived our wedding. We can't thank you enough, they are just what we wanted - so many natural photos!”
Danielle and Lee had planned for a summer wedding in 2020, but, like it did so many others, the pandemic scuppered their plans and they had to postpone. With 2021 dates going so fast, they struggled to find a day that both the venue and registrar were available for, but finally, they secured a date in November and a ceremony time of 3.30pm. We knew we were in for a bit of a challenge with only 10 minutes of daylight after their wedding ceremony to photograph family photos and a few portraits but with their awesome wedding guests on board, we did it!
They were married in the Tanfield Suite at South Causey inn, moving to the Cobbles Bar to celebrate with their family and friends, following on with a wedding breakfast and evening party in the Durham Suite. It was a fabulous day with a relaxed vibe and was great fun to photograph.
Woodhill Hall - Joanne and Graeme
Joanne and Graeme’s wedding at Woodhill Hall was one of our first weddings of 2019, and what a way to kick start the year. They were married in an intimate ceremony at the parish church of St John the Evangelist in Otterburn, heading over to Woodhill Hall for their celebrations. We had an absolute blast with these two. Dispite the freezing cold conditions, the atmosphere throughout their day was amazing. Joanne and Graeme, a naturally fun loving couple, didn’t take their day too seriously, followed the natural flow of the day and had a lot of fun along the way.
Wynyard Hall - Kathryn and Luke
Snow snow snow…and ice! And that light! Wow!
Covered with a fresh fall of pure white snow, Wynyard Hall created a dream setting for Kathryn and Luke's January wedding earlier this year. The winter low sun, which we are always fans of, only added to the effect, and created ideal conditions to capture some truly magical images for Kathryn and Luke.
Kathryn and Luke's story began at the tender age of 14. She didn’t want to play paintball with her friends so she decided to go and chat with the lad working at the venue instead. Some weeks later Luke looked her up on facebook, they got chatting again and arranged a date. 8 years later, they were wed.
Luke works on a farm and wanted to make his much loved career path a small part of their day. He asked to borrow a tractor which became his wedding transport to the venue. Kathryn had no idea of his plan and after a quick peak out of the bedroom window, loved the surprise, seeing the brand new huge green tractor clad with wedding bows and ribbons.
Kathryn is a very talented singer, and to much delight of all of their guests decided upon an impromptu performance with their evening wedding band. She sang a stunning rendition of Edd Sheeran’s Photograph, relaying afterwards funny stories about her and the band members who are long friends, to the raucous laughter of her guests.
Here is a brief glance of our first wedding of 2018, enjoy!
