The Alnwick Garden - Mags and Nick

Mags and Nick were married in the huge glass roofed pavilion of the Alnwick Garden overlooked by the stunning grand cascade fountains.  This fairytale garden filled with stunning flora and featuring dozens of water features, a walled garden, and it's own maze is a jewel in the crown of the North East - truly a magical place to be married.  

To match the venue, Mags chose a garden theme for their day.  Pretty florals arranged carefully in jars and vases were placed all around the pavilion, parasols were hanging from the ceiling and DIY place settings were carefully crafted by Mag's parents to help guests find their places.  The whole day had such a relaxed and happy vibe it was such a pleasure to photograph. 

Festival inspired Tipichic wedding - Katherine and David

Katherine and David were married this summer at Cockerton Methodist church in Darlington followed by dinner and dancing in a tipi in a field.  They wanted their wedding to be relaxed informal and fun, a countryside getaway for their guests and themselves. Pretty rustic DIY decor for the tipi, VW Beatles and an amazing naked cake along with some fabulous glamping bell tents all made an appearance on their big day.

Tynemouth and Jesmond Dene House - Jayne and Ian

Jayne and Ian's wedding earlier this year took place in St Oswin's church in Tynemouth followed by a reception in Jesmond Dene House.  Having photographed the weddings of both of Jayne's cousins, Helen last year and Laura in 2014, it was wonderful to see the family again and a joy to be a part of another family wedding.  Jayne made the perfect bride, simply stunning, and Ian, smart as a dart chose a black tie for the occasion.

Three day Chinese wedding in Newcastle - Sabrina and Alvin

Chinese weddings are always such a feast for the eyes.  A vibrant mix of tradition, emotion, laughter and colour, fast paced and energetic.  Earlier in the year we were invited to capture Sabrina and Alvin's three day wedding in Newcastle.  

The wedding began at the groom's family home with the traditional Chinese games.  A hilarious mix of tasks designed by the bridesmaids to see how far the groom is willing to go to win the hand of his bride.  Once he had proved himself, he was invited inside to greet Sabrina and to commence with the tea ceremony.  Having spent the morning with both the bride and the groom, day two was the main event, a beautiful wedding ceremony at the True Jesus church in Newcastle and a wonderful feast at Palace Gardens joined by all of their family and friends.  Toasts to the bride and groom, a spot of karaoke and lots more laughter.  Bealim House made the perfect venue after the meal for the younger guests to party the night away.  Day three, we were back to Palace Gardens for the second feast of the wedding, ending the day back at the family home for the second tea ceremony.
