Best of 2019

Well, it’s that time of year again!  The time when we review our work and choose our top picks from the past year.  We have shared some amazing moments with some amazing people, visited some incredible places and made so many new friends.  What an absolute pleasure it has been working with each and every one of our couples throughout the year.  Thank you to you all for inviting us to your wonderful weddings.  

So here we go...2019!  A year filled with laughs and tears of joy, moments and memories, spectacular sunsets and most importantly - incredible people.  Cheers guys, and here's to an amazing 2020!  

Beamish Hall - Laura and Richard

Beamish Hall in the springtime made an idyllic setting for Laura and Richards wedding. The sun decided not to show its face but no matter, that didn’t make the day any less perfect.

Laura and her maids chose to get ready in the spacious apartment within the hall itself, while the lads chose the car park! Ha, well if it worked for them, why not? The newly redecorated Shafto hall became the setting for their cosy wedding ceremony and the grounds played host to their guests for their drinks reception. After the ceremony the two of them sped away in Richard’s mum’s yellow vintage Citroën Deux Chevaux so he and Laura could spend those first few moments of married life together and alone before coming back to join their guests enjoying the celebrations, going on to their wedding breakfast and evening party in the Winter gardens.

It was a gorgeous day with a wonderful couple, and a joy to attend.

Newton Hall - Georgina and Richard

What a cracker this wedding was! In June, we travelled up to Newton Hall, a stunning Georgian coastal wedding venue in Northumberland for Georgina and Richard’s wedding. As we travelled up the A1, seeing the weather clear, thinking about the day ahead, and this awesome couple, we already knew it was going to be amazing.

We had the chance to get to know Georgina and Richard before the wedding and we all really hit it off. Their relaxed yet vibrant and fun personalities make them such an absolute joy to be around, and it was no different on their big day.

Newton Hall is a venue that we have visited many times before, its classic exterior and its quirky interior make it such a fun venue to photograph. Alone, the venue is perfect, but with the stunning beach close by, it just gets better and better. After dinner we headed out into the beach for some stunning portraits, the golden sunshine made for amazing evening light.

As always it was a pleasure to work alongside the very talented Janet and Chris from One Digital Image, Paul Lytton and of course Craig and the rest of the staff at Newton Hall.

Wow wow wow, what a day, and what a joy is was to be involved.

Healey Barn - Monika and Daniel

Lithuanian born Monika and local lad Daniel, currently living in Edinburgh travelled down to Healey Barn in Northumberland for their wedding in May. The venue was stunning, the weather was glorious, and you can see from the photograph above, the joy that surrounded us throughout the day.

The Boathouse in Riding Mill was a great find by Monika. Only a few minutes drive away from the venue, it’s picturesque village setting and large airy interior made the space perfect for her and her maids to get ready before the main event. Healey barn its self also could not have been more perfect for them. The relaxed vibe, and atmospheric ceremony room, along with the stunning countryside location added so much to their day.

Monika and Daniel chose to include some special Lithuanian traditions into their day. At the beginning of the wedding breakfast they were welcomed by Monika’s parents with the traditional gifts of bread, salt and water. The bread symbolising life, the salt for bitter moments and two glasses of water wash everything down. The guests were each supplied with vodka instead of champagne or prosecco to toast the bride and groom, and the brides parents together lit a candle symbolising the new hearth flame of the new couple.

It really was a day to remember filled with memories to treasure.
