Steph and Adam were one of our lucky 2021 couples who were married on their original wedding date, with no need for postponements and rescheduling of suppliers. Restrictions had eased so far that they could have the day that they wanted in full, with the only exception being that guests could still not dance. Their wedding day at Healey Barn was another stunner, beautiful weather, a gorgeous couple and a fab group of guests to celebrate the day with.
Newton Hall - Carly and Scott
“We really LOVE our photos, they completely exceeded our expectations! We are truly so grateful you were both able to capture special moments throughout the day. Carly and Scott”
Newton Hall in Northumberland has always been a favourite venue of ours, with its quirky interior, relaxed vibe and coastal location, so it was great to be back again for Carly and Scott’s wedding day in June. The weather was glorious all day long for Carly and Scott who made the most of it, enjoying drinks outdoors with their family and friends after their wedding ceremony and before taking a turn around the grounds for their pictures. Their wedding breakfast was followed by an evening party, and while guests were still not permitted to dance, the Covid rules had changed so they could have their first dance. It was a long time coming, but so great to see wedding days looking much more like they used to!
Hexham House - Kristina and Richie
Kristina and Richie decided to postpone their wedding day at Healey Barn when it became apparent that Covid restrictions at the time would not allow them to have the day that they wanted, so instead, they chose to get married at their local registry office - Hexham House with their closest family and friends present and keep the day at Healey Barn for a big celebration when Covid 19 would no longer hamper their plans. We had never worked at Hexham House before, so it came as a pleasant surprise to see how lovely the building was, surrounded by parkland with the abbey serving as a stunning backdrop to their family photos. Afterwards, we all headed back to Kristina and Richie’s home for an outdoor drinks reception in their garden and some takeaway food. It was a fab few hours with a fab couple, and we can’t wait to join them for day 2 of their celebrations next week!
Healey Barn - Eleanor and Adam
“Just wanted to send a message and say THANK YOU so much for everything yesterday! We had the best day and can’t wait to do it all again in October with you both! So pleased the rain managed to hold off for the photos, we can’t wait to see them! It was so good to see you both after so long! You two really are the best!”
After having postponed their wedding day twice, Eleanor and Adam’s big day finally arrived in May. Restrictions of no more than 30 guests, and no dancing were still in place so they also continued with their plans for a second wedding which followed in October. They chose Healey Barn for both of their wedding days - a fabulous venue with so many great spots for photographs, so we had no fears about coming up with new ideas for each day. Their intimate wedding ceremony was followed by drinks in the courtyard, a walk in the woods with the newlyweds, and then the first wedding breakfast and speeches that we had photographed in months. It was so nice to feel things beginning to get back to normal.
It was great to spend two amazing wedding days with these guys. Their sense of fun and enthusiasm was contagious and we shared so many giggles with them and their wonderful families - it felt like we were photographing an old friends wedding.
It was also awesome to work alongside one of our fav wedding videographers - Abigail Grace, on both days.
