Healey Barn - Emily and Luke

Towards the end of September, we were back in Northumberland for Emily and Luke's fantastic wedding day at Healey Barn.

Emily and Luke started their day at Healey Hall, getting ready with their closest family and friends. Emily and her girls were in the main house, and Luke and the lads were in one of the cottages, before heading over to Healey Barn for their ceremony. There was barely a dry eye in the room as Emily walked down the aisle on her grandad’s arm. It was an emotional moment for everyone, but most of all Luke, who just about managed to hold it together. After exchanging vows, they left the room with huge cheers, and whoops, leading everyone outside to the courtyard for their drinks reception. They held their wedding breakfast in the Oak room, with its stunning views of the Northumberland countryside. The room was beautifully decorated, with florals and candlelight, and made use of the bridesmaid’s bouquets as table centers.

It was a wonderful day filled with laughter and fun. From the beautiful ceremony in the barn to the crazy dancing in the evening, their day was a joy to photograph.

Shortflatt Tower - Ashley and Tom

In September, we drove up to Belsay and to Shortflatt tower for Ashley and Tom’s wedding. Shortflatt Tower is a stunning venue for a wedding, and the early signs of Autumn, with the trees beginning to change colour, made it even more so.

Ashley and Tom exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends in the Woodland Suite, with stunning panoramic views of the woodland around them, before heading outside to enjoy the stunning grounds of the estate for their drinks reception and pictures. They continued their celebrations by heading back to the woodland suite, which was now fully opened up and made a fabulous space for a party.

As the sun began to set, the sky turned a beautiful blue/orange hue, so we headed up the road to Bowlam Lake for a few pictures. Ashley and Tom looked amazing with the woodland and lake behind them, and the sun casting a warm glow over the water. The swans even popped by to say hello.

It was a wonderful day with a wonderful couple and we were honoured to have been there to capture it all in pictures.

South Causey Inn - Ashley and Michael

South Causey Inn was the perfect location for Ashley and Michael's summer wedding. With its breathtaking views of the Beamish Valley and rustic charm, it provided the perfect backdrop for their special day. I knew the day was going to be amazing right from the start, with the girls setting the tone for the day as they got ready. The room was a buzz, filled with laughter, and fun, and I loved being there to capture it all in photographs. Nigel was there also to capture the other side of things as Michael and the lads finished getting ready in the Old Barn bar, and the guests arrived for their ceremony. They tied the knot in the St Cuthbert’s Suite, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Ashley looked stunning in her elegant a-line wedding gown as she walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm to meet her groom.

After a fabulous drinks reception in the Old Barn Bar and a few pictures outside, Ashley, Michael, and their guests made their way into the Old Barn for their wedding breakfast and some really fantastic speeches. In the summer, the best light always comes towards the end of the day, so after dinner, we took advantage of the good light and made our way outside to explore the grounds of South Causey Inn. As the evening progressed, the partying started. Ashley and Michael kicked things off with their first dance as husband and wife, opening the dancefloor to everyone else, who all joined in, dancing to their favourite modern country tunes - and wow, these guys love a dance!

Ashley and Michael originally planned to get married in 2020. Two years after their original wedding date and over three since booking us, it was wonderful to finally see them make it down the aisle. It was also great to catch up with Michael’s best man Ben, and his wife Natasha whose wedding we photographed at Brinkburn Priory in 2019. Jesmond Dene House - Danielle and Craig

Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle is a stunning wedding venue and was the perfect setting for Danielle and Craig's special day. They exchanged vows in the Great Hall in front of their closest friends and family, after which, they all headed outside to enjoy the grounds and celebrate the marriage. The speeches were a real highlight of the day, with the best man delivering a hilarious speech that had everyone in stitches. The groom’s speech was also fantastic, sharing funny moments that they had shared together along with a lovely tribute to his bride. After their speeches, Danielle and Craig played a game of Mr and Mrs, which was also a fun moment, revealing how well they knew each other. After dinner, the four of us headed out for some photos in the beautiful surroundings of Jesmond Dene. The waterfall and bridge provided a stunning backdrop as the sun started to set, casting a golden glow over the happy couple.

It was a wonderful day with a great couple, and so much fun to photograph.
