Healey Barn - Brooke and Calum

In December, Brooke and Calum became Mr. and Mrs. in a beautiful wedding at Healey Barn. Nigel met Calum and the lads as they got ready at Derwent Manor, while I went to see Brook and the girls at the Newlands Lodges near Shotley Bridge. Brooke looked stunning in her elegant lace gown, complemented by her bridesmaids in neutral shades, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Ruby, who was dressed to the nines and stole the show with her cuteness.

Their ceremony was held in the candlelit stone barn at Healey Barn, which was filled with beautiful floral displays featuring white roses, pinecones, and pampas grass, The magnificent Christmas tree at the entrance to the barn added a touch of seasonal magic. After the ceremony and a few drinks with their guests, Brooke and Calum joined us outside to capture some shots within the grounds of Healey Barn, and in the surrounding woods.

It was a wonderful day from start to finish - from the emotional ceremony to the surprise performance by singing waiters, and right through to the end of the day as the guests were partying the night away. We loved every moment of photographing it.

Beamish Hall - Kate and Adam

On a bright and sunny day in October, Kate and Adam tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Beamish Hall in County Durham. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged their vows in the Shafto Hall, before heading outside to celebrate with a few drinks in the stunning grounds. The Monboucher Suite played host to the wedding meal and some great speeches with heartfelt toasts, and as the day progressed, the celebrations continued in the Winter Gardens.

It was a wedding filled with joy, and laughter and was wonderful to have been a part of. Congratulations again to Kate and Adam! It was an honour to be a part of your wedding day. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!

South Causey Inn - Jasmine and Ryan

Jasmine and Ryan's spectacular wedding in October took place at two venues.  Surrounded by all of their family and friends, they said their vows and became husband and wife in the Tanfield Suite at the South Causey Inn in County Durham.  After a few family photos in the grounds, they headed off to celebrate their marriage at the Happiness Inn in Newcastle, with speeches, toasts, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, and a meal.

We headed back to South Causey Inn later in the day and arrived early ahead of the guests to explore the gardens, take in the sunshine and create some beautiful portraits before heading inside. South Causey Inn has several venues to choose from, however, as Jasmine and Ryan were the only wedding at the venue that day, and with so much time on our hands, the staff at South Causey were only too happy to allow us to explore the other venues for photographs too.

Once everyone had arrived and were seated in the Durham Suite, the bride and groom, along with the best man and maid of honour each gave a speech sharing funny stories and witty anecdotes then took to the dancefloor for their first dance as husband and wife.

It was a wonderful day, and so much fun to photograph and we were thrilled to have been a part of it.

South Causey Inn - Darcie and Paul

In October, we were back at South Causey Inn in County Durham for Darcie and Paul’s wonderful wedding day. It was one of those perfect autumn days, with clear skies and crisp autumn air, and it could not have been more perfect for their wedding.

Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, Darcie and Paul exchanged vows in the St Cuthbert’s suite, afterwards moving outside with their guests to enjoy the glorious weather and the stunning views of the Beamish Valley. After a bit of confetti and a few photo’s in the grounds, they all headed back inside to the Old Barn for their wedding breakfast and three amazing speeches.

After the sun had set, and the dancing was in full swing, we began to say our goodbyes, but were stopped in our tracks at the sight of the full moon. We quickly nipped outside for one last photo, and I am so glad we did, what a way to spend the end of your day, standing in the light of the full moon. It was such a romantic moment.

Incredible venues with gorgeous decor and beautiful views, stunning flower arrangements, and amazing outfits all go together to help make a wedding unforgettable, and Darcie and Paul had all of these, but for me what makes a wedding really special is the people. The love and joy for Darcie and Paul was clear to see from the faces of everyone attending, and I am not surprised at all, Darcie and Paul are two of the warmest and most wonderful people you could hope to meet. It was a joy to get to know them both and wonderful to photograph their wedding.
